Cinema and Society in Asia and Africa
The purpose of this course is to introduce a wide spectrum of students to the rich and diverse cinema of Asia and Africa through a cross-disciplinary approach to visual and performing arts. In this course, students will be exposed to the discipline of Cinema Studies as it is specifically related to the cinema of Asia and Africa. In addition, topical issues that concern these societies will be explored through a close examination of a number of recent and internationally celebrated films.
