TEACHING
Colonialism: A Global Perspective
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the ideas, practices, economic foundations, and political and cultural consequences of colonialism. The course begins with a preliminary examination of the prevalent theories of colonialism, and then casts a global and comparative perspective on colonial practices across the globe. The primary sources we will examine in this course are anti-colonial tracts and arguments made by those subject to colonialism, or struggling on their behalf.
