TEACHING

Senior Seminar in Comparative Literature

The purpose of this seminar is to bring together the dominant themes and theories of comparative literature and society in a cross-disciplinary and global perspective.  Students are all required to have done all their preliminary course requirements in this major.  A disciplinary familiarity with the dominant issues of comparative literature and society are expected from all students.  The objective of this course is to engage the students with these issues in a critical and creative dialogue.  The course is roughly divided into two components—the theory and practice of literature, with the presumed line between the two subject to critical conversations.
